1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using EcoChat ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
EcoChat is an AI-powered chat platform that uses third-party large language model APIs to generate responses. We offset the estimated carbon footprint of each AI inference. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
3. User Accounts
You must create an account to use EcoChat. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it if it changes. You may not use another person's account without permission.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Generate harmful, illegal, abusive, or offensive content
- Violate the intellectual property rights of others
- Attempt to circumvent credit limits or access controls
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service's outputs for commercial redistribution
- Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Service
5. Credits and Usage Limits
Free accounts receive 300 credits per calendar month. Each message sent and each AI response received consumes one credit. Credits do not roll over. We reserve the right to modify credit allocations with reasonable notice.
6. Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you input into the Service. You grant EcoChat a limited licence to process your inputs to deliver the Service. AI-generated outputs are provided for your use subject to the terms of the underlying AI model providers.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through your profile settings.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EcoChat shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past twelve months.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or the courts of the jurisdiction in which EcoChat operates.
